ENG: Upon looking back to the year we left behind I find myself with mixed feelings about it. I would mainly blame the present situation of my country and the effects this has in our everyday life.
PL: Patrząc wstecz na rok, który zostawiliśmy za sobą, odnajduję siebie z mieszanymi uczuciami. Przede wszystkim obwiniam za to mój kraj, za obecną sytuację i jej wpływ na życie codzienne.
ENG: Upon looking back to the year we left behind I find myself with mixed feelings about it. I would mainly blame the present situation of my country and the effects this has in our everyday life. I would not go for the whole economical crisis situation because this is just the surface of the problem, the real reasons lie deeper inside to where each and every one of us carries a part of the responsibility. The matter is mainly a matter of the average way of thinking and in my opinion to the lack of comprehension and understanding of the meaning of unity among the people of today’s world plus the tendency of turning a blind eye to what the main cause of any problem that may come is since it won’t directly affect them.
Many things, good or bad happened last year but I will try to keep this short by briefly referring to them. One is the release of my album with iNsCissorS : “Destin – Music for a film by John Santerineross” from No Angels Prod. & Beast Of Prey. On the other had things were not that fortunate with my side-project “Hydra Division V” since the label that was to release its debut album a couple of months before the release closed down due to a number of reasons.
I also had the opportunity to get to know a few people who I came to highly admire and respect and this really meant and means a lot and played its part to the way I see things now. I refer to Inquest and Anoxia from “Larva”, Holger Karas, AimA Project and Mich Spape.
Regarding “Larva”I had the opportunity to meet them in person and also see them performing live twice in Hellas! The fact that they perform live with NO laptop and that they use hardware equipment instead and therefore playing live music should be an example to all those who think that by just downloading and using a cracked software synth and mixing program automatically become “artists/musicians/bands”. Those who know can definitely tell the difference. I was happy to see with my own eyes that there are still some who love and know what they do! So, I will say that those two performances of Larva have been among the best things for 2012 for me.
Each year I come to make a list with the albums I liked the most since I am in a constant search of new music but more specifically of good music, thus I would like to share with you the albums I personally consider that are really worth to listen to, the genres vary as I never stick to some particular sound and I like to check as much as I can, you never know what you will find among the tons of trash that exist out there. So here they are :

I was also looking forward for the new Silent Hill movie and the soundtrack but for some reason it never came to the cinemas in Hellas and the soundtrack has not yet been released in CD format. I know that it exists in digital format already but I refuse to download it as I do with all music and if I download an album is because I cannot find it to buy it in physical form. I really fail to see what the advantage of downloading music may be after all, maybe because I grew up without that and I remember that things were working just fine without that let alone that a bunch of files in your hard disc in no match to the “magic” a physical release holds! Excuse me if I will sound “cheesy” or “romantic” but I still remember and even miss the days when I was back in school-age and I was trying to save at least half of the money my parents were giving me in order to be able at the end of the week or every two weeks to buy the album I wanted at that time and then when I got back home I dedicated the appropriate time to read through the booklet or enjoy the artwork while listening to the music. I am sure that those who have grown up the same way they know what I am talking about and upon remembering these a faint smile always comes on their faces let alone that they know the price of albums we have treasured is far more greater than money and this is something digital files will never come to be.
I still cannot make up my mind if it was a good or a bad year but it surely left some faint bitter taste in the back of my mind but I believe that everything happens for a reason, and the reason is to learn through that which happened, you just have to be able to decipher it and use the knowledge and experience acquired to your advance.
Closing this I would like to wish that this new year may bring happiness to all and be inspiring and creative!

PL: Patrząc wstecz na rok, który zostawiliśmy za sobą, odnajduję siebie z mieszanymi uczuciami. Przede wszystkim obwiniam za to mój kraj, za obecną sytuację i jej wpływ na życie codzienne. Nie zwalałbym całej winy na kryzys ekonomiczny, bo to tylko czubek góry lodowej, prawdziwe powody leżą głębiej i każdy z nas ponosi za to część odpowiedzialności. Istota tkwi w płytkim myśleniu, w braku zrozumienia kwestii jedności między ludźmi jak również w tendencji do przymykania oka lub niezauważania problemów, które nie dotyczą bezpośrednio danej osoby.
Wiele rzeczy, dobrych i złych wydarzyło sie w zeszłym roku, spróbuję się pokrótce do nich odnieść. Na pewno ważne było wydanie płyty jako iNsCissorS: “Destin – Music for a film by John Santerineross” przez No Angels Prod. & Beast Of Prey. Z drugiej strony mój drugi projekt, Hydra Division V nie miał tyle szczęścia, ponieważ wytwórnia, która miała wydać jego debiut z wielu powodów zakończyła działalność kilka miesięcy wcześniej.
Miałem przyjemność poznać kilka osób, które podziwiam i szanuję – to dużo dla mnie znaczy, na pewno wywarło na mnie spory wpływ. Mówię tu o Anoxii z Larva, Holgerze Karasie, AimA Project i Michu Spape.
A propos Larva, miałem możliwość zagrać z nimi dwa razy koncert w Grecji! Fakt, że nie używają laptopa, tylko regularnego sprzętu podczas grania live powinien być przykładem dla wszystkich tych, którzy myślą, że przez ściągnięcie pirackiego oprogramowania automatycznie stają się “artystami/muzykami”. Kto powinien, ten dostrzeże różnicę. Bardzo się cieszę, że mogłem zobaczyć na własne oczy ludzi, którzy wciąż to kochają i wiedzą, co robią. Te dwa koncerty Larva były na pewno jednymi z najważniejszych wydarzeń zeszłego roku.
Każdego roku robię sobie listę płyt, które podobały mi sie najbardziej. Wciąż poszukuję nowej, ciekawej i dobrej muzyki, i w tym miejscu chciałbym podzielić się z wami płytami, które wywarły na mnie największe wrażenie. Z różnych gatunków, nigdy nie byłem przywiązany do jednej szufladki. Lubię słuchać różnych dźwięków, nigdy nie wiesz jaki brylant możesz znaleźć pośród tony śmieci:

Chciałem obejrzeć nowy Silent Hill, ale nie wiedzieć czemu, nie wprowadzono tego filmu do kin w Grecji. Soundtrack również nie ukazał się na CD. Wiem, że mógłbym sobie to ściągnąć, ale jestem przeciwnikiem ściągania jakiejkolwiek muzyki, o ile nie mogę znaleźć jej do kupienia w fizycznej formie. Naprawdę nie dostrzegam pozytywów w ściąganiu muzyki, może dlatego, że dorastałem bez takich możliwości, i że wszystko wtedy bardzo dobrze funkcjonowało. Garść plików na twardym dysku nie ma w sobie niczego z “magii” fizycznego nośnika. Wybaczcie, może brzmię “kiczowato” czy “romantycznie”, ale wciąż pamiętam i tęsknię za czasami szkolnymi, kiedy odkładałem połowę kieszonkowego aby móc kupić sobie co tydzień albo dwa płytę, którą bardzo chciałem. A po powrocie do domu przeznaczałem odpowiednią ilość czasu na lekturę książeczki, podziwianie oprawy graficznej i oczywiście słuchanie muzyki. Wiem, że ci, którzy również dorastali w ten sposób doskonale wiedzą o czym mówię, być może uśmiechają się lekko pod nosem rozumiejąc, że rzeczywista wartość takiej płyty jest o wiele wyższa niż jej cena, i tego pliki cyfrowe nigdy nie będą w stanie nam dostarczyć.
W sumie nie umiem powiedzieć, czy to był dobry rok, czy zły. Na pewno pozostawił po sobie lekki gorzki posmak, wierzę jednak, że nic nie dzieje sie bez przyczyny, należy uczyć sie i wyciągać wnioski z tego, co się wydarzyło, wykorzystywać wiedzę i doświadczenie na swoją korzyść.
Na koniec chciałbym życzyć wszystkim udanego roku 2013, niech przyniesie wam szczęście, inspirację i kreatywność! Dziękuję za dobrnięcie do końca!
