As it was revealed to me, this album contains many subterranean levels each of them having a life in itself. Although not fully matured, the sounds germinate inside these tunnels and fully spawn towards the exit in viscous shapes that hide their philosophical essence, which is the void, as stated in the opening track Nihil Unbound. Buried under a pile of sulphurous laden-filled noises, a vapour breathing misty light makes its room to desiccate further into the grassy dark-green colours that leave an impression of abduction or opium induced trauma.
Should we ponder upon the message of the record, Eumourner tells of human thought imprisoned within social determinism leading to nihilistic approach of realty. This claim is greatly sustained through the tracks of Human security system, as the disc follows -as exemplified in Face the riddle, Ruin your faith or Enjoy the flatline– a sorrowful vision of the world which distantly resembles a pale image of the picture that our imagination is constrained to retain. Surprisingly accurate and cutting, their musical paintings revolve around a grotesque and apocalyptic scenery constructed upon a rich architecture –flamboyance of decadence- of digital symphonic and verbal cut-ups aligned to an analogue sense of expressionist orchestration. By entering this unique world the listener will experience highly sensitive and intellectual wonderings quite similar to renewed dark-ambient projects. Of how marvellous and intriguing they narrate this loss and absence of mystery –as paradoxically as it may seem- obnubilated by our own impotence when facing reason, speaks the final track Lost Futures in a fainting and staggering voice that prophesizes a death of tomorrow.
Human security system was released by Gates of Hypnos, the digital label from Poland and on CD through Imploding Sounds from USA. Eumourner, which is an Italian project, should be discovered by any of those in love with authentic and sophisticated ambient music, by looking at their past offerings at digital labels like veinte33records, Hamfuggi records, Distorted Void.
