Mathias is a busy man. Mostly known of Moljebka Pvlse, but he’s also a member of such projects as Skare or Negru Pvlse. We could hear new offerings from all three this year. Check them out and check what Mathias has to say about 2015.
Tell us your way for a successful or happy life. Do you think that man is able to live free from religion? What do you think is the meaning of our existence?
For me it is about keeping balance, an open mind and attitude, staying curious and to actively listen to what others are saying in meetings and discussions. It is not easy, but I hope that I am getting a bit better at it all the time.
Yes, I think that is possible, for some. However I find it very important to remember that we will not do it all the same way. I wish for a better understanding between us all and an openness to our differences: different choices, life paths and ways of travelling.
I think that the meaning of existence is personal and very different for all of us, and I wish for everyone to find their own meaning.
How would you sum up your musical activity in 2015?
I am very happy about the releases and concerts I have done this year. All the musical meetings and wonderful new and old friends that I have met. This past year I have been working more in multichannel speaker concerts, which I have enjoyed very much. And also started to include written texts in my compositions.
How are you going to spend the upcoming holiday season?
Spending time with friends and family. Hopefully a bit of composition, modular patching and a bit of DIY soldering which I enjoy and do to relax.
Is there any film / book / theatrical play / exhibition / computer game which made a particular impression on you in 2015?
The Ai Wei Wei exhibition at the Royal Academy in London was very inspiring in my opinion. Then I would like to mention two concerts: the Nick Cave concert at the Waterfront Stockholm was one of the best I have seen with him. Finally the two concerts with Einstürzende Neubauten in Brussels were exceptional.
Did this year change you in any way, changed your perception of the world, perhaps opened your eyes on something?
Yes, with all the things happening throughout Europe this year, it all has affected me.
Your predictions for the world (in the political and cultural context) for 2016?
Hopefully 2016 will be a better world. A less fearful and more loving place to be.
Your personal plans, hopes, expectations for 2016?
I have planned some new compositions and releases of new music. I hope to learn new things and get better at what I do. Hopefully travel a bit as well. All the best for 2016 to everyone.
