Nina is a founder of Allseits/All Sides projects, among other known from a collaboration with Troum (“Shutun”) or “Hel” album released via Cyclic Law. Another album, „Chimäre“ is on the way, so I guess we can once again expect some deep drone poetry. Meanwhile some Nina thoughts on 2015.
Tell us your way for a succesful or happy life. Do you think that man is able to live free from religion? What do you think is the meaning of our existence?
I try to not take it too serious. Recently I look at the stars to realise most of our problems are so small and dispensable in front of this immense abyss. Me myself live without religion, so yes, I think so. I even think the world would be a better one without religion, which is not to confound with sprirituality.
The Idea, that existence has to have a meaning is a very human and limited thought, which comes from our narcissm and our disability to deviate from the cause – and – effect – chain. In my imagination our existence, the universe, energy, the time, black holes, dark matter, chemistry, mathematics, emotions, the light, the dark, the love, the pain, the thing we call life is more similar to the pictures of M.C. Escher: the coherence between everything is like going upstairs just to start at the bottom again, like the water flowing in circle, but uphill all the time…..and probably life is an optical illusion too, but that doesn`t matter.
What really comforts me, is the fact that everything, that we call everything is such a little peace of something that is much greater and smaller we could ever imagine.
How would you sum up your musical activity in 2015?
I finished my new album „Chimäre“.
How are you going to spend the upcoming holiday season?
Don`t know yet, but like to travel.
Is there any film / book / theatrical play / exhibition / computer game which made a particular impression on you in 2015?
Did this year change you in any way, changed your perception of the world, perhaps opened your eyes on something?
I fell in love. To feel this has the similiar affect, as looking to the stars….but much stronger.
Any moment of 2015 you’ll remember on your death bed?
The day I met my boyfriend. We were watching Macbeth then took a walk in the park and fell in love with each other.
Your predictions for the world (in the political and cultural context) for 2016?
Be quiet, and look!
Your personal plans, hopes, expectations for 2016?
Be happy, enjoy life, spend time with people I love, make music, travel.
