How would you summarise this past year on an artistic and personal level?
2014 was a quiet year, although we ( Peter, Madeline from Germany and Barry from UK) have recorded half of the new upcoming album. The last years we started to work on the music live together. Our singer, Madeline lives in Dresden ( 800 km from here) and we used to send music files to each other. Now we do not like to send files but really play together. And this makes the process slow, we have to wait until we all have free dates.
– Which album have you listened to most often this year (not necessarily released in 2014)?
It is not one album but all the releases of the Polish label ZOHARUM, they re-release old industrial music and new projects from Poland. A MUST to get to know this label!
What was the best gig you’ve attended?
Eh, this year I did not attend many concerts, so no best gig this year.
What was the best non-music related cultural experience you’ve had?
Seeing some good science fiction movies on the big screen? As I said it was a quiet year.
Was there an event within this past year that has significantly influenced your philosophy and outlook on life, or your perception of the world around you? For instance some specific place you visited, people you met and so on?
Not his year, it was a quiet year, not much gigs and performing, not much travelling…But a few years ago I went with Martin Franklin ( TUU – Codetripper) on a Magical Mystery tour in the UK. Traveling to Stonehenge, Avebury, Silsbury hill, and all those old sacred places, a small roadtrip which still has a very warm feeling in my hart.
What was your greatest disappointment in 2014?
That the world burns more and more, the dreadful monotheistic religion that makes our world a nightmare without privacy. The pollution of mother earth and the greed of a few super rich people to even get richer. The way animals are mistreated for mass production of food, and big corporations who want to rule the world, giving us manipulated food, which makes us sick so we need to buy the pills of another big corporation. The way governments are destroying our privacy and the way the internet tries to make us brain dead consumers. And it is a pity that people still have the need to use fuckingFacebook to communicate, giving the NSA and others a look in their personal lives, making them selves important with a stupid selfie.
Your plans, hopes and expectations for 2015?
Plans: Finishing the new HYBRYDS album, doing an exhibition with my landscape photo’s. ( since years I take pictures of the place I live ( Het Hageland) full with churches and other sacred places. And releasing a printed book of 30 years Hybryds with in-depth info of the project and artwork of me.
Hopes: Unrealistic: The disappearing of the monotheistic religion, the greed, the pain of Mother earth and fuckingfacebook. And more visitors on our : www.hybryds.com buying our CD’s instead of listening to free crappy Russian bootleg MP3.
