2014 Through My eyes: Albin Julius [Der Blutharsch and the infinite church of the leading hand]

In this case the words of introdusction aren’t really necessary I suppose. Albin Julius, the leader of Der Blutharsch, head master of WKN label, in the past also co-member of The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath A Cloud and – for a brief moment- Death In June. Below Albin’s thoughts on 2014.

How would you summarize this past year on an artistic and personal level?

Very good…loads of things happened and loads of projects started – which still are in process. I think 2014 was our most sucessful year musically. Also personally it was really good, did some interresting journeys and all in all it was smooth and wild at the same time.

Which album have you listened to most often this year (not necessarily released in 2014)?

Hm….hard to say…didn`t really count…but I listened a lot to Uran, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats and Pharaoh Overlord, to name just 3 which come to mind first. But there was a lot more as I am very open towards music!

What was the best gig you’ve attended?

In 2014 it was The Dandy Warhols and Circle – those were the highlights. But all in all I went to see at least 60 concerts and all of them were good. Really also enjoyed Matt Howden/Sieben Rummelsnuff (which I bought organized in Vienna) – and not to forget Job Karma!!!!!

What was the best non-music related cultural experience you’ve had?

The Adolf Wölfli exhibition in Gugging, a really great Art Brut museum outside Vienna. Also dome other exhbitons and some really good movies.

Was there an event within this past year that has significantly influenced your philosophy and outlook on life, or your perception of the world around you? For instance some specific place you visited, people you met and so on?

This year nothing really influenced me that much that it “changed” my life. I am very satisfied with my situation -personally, relationships and music since
a few years – so it just stayed as good as it was since some years!

What was your greatest disappointment in 2014?

There was no real disappointment I can think about.

Your plans, hopes and expectations for 2015?

2015 will be a good year! Loads of plans…. finishing our new album, finishing 2 collaborations (one with White Hills and one with Urfaust) – and a new Jastreb.
Some travels… Laos and Cambodia in January/February – then some short trips to some cities (Barcelona etc), 3 weeks in Ukraine and Poland .. and then we’ll see.

Time is running fast!
