2013 Through My Eyes: Drakh [Beyond Sensory Experience]

bse2

” This music is not dark per se. Instead it’s quite foggy and oniric, where reverb and silence play huge role. And at the same time the sounds generated by BEYOND SENSORY EXPERIENCE arouse kind of yearning of something long gone. So long ago that we’re not even sure whether it really happened or was it just a dream.” [stark]

How would you summarize this past year on artistic and personal level?

On an artistic level it’s been a very rewarding year since, despite a hectic schedule in our private lives, we were able to record and release ‘Faint’ which we believe is one of our strongest, if not the strongest, album to date. On a personal level it’s been an extremely busy and fulfilling year with additional kids being born, change of job, completing one of the most challenging multi-sports events in Sweden, playing shows with old EBM project.

What album you listened to most often this year (not necessarily released in 2013)?

To be honest I’ve not listened to much new music this year but the album I’ve listened to most is the pre-copy of Faint. Just to be sure it’s a master piece.

What was the best cultural experience not related to music?

This must be excursions to Skansen and other local venues.

And best trip? Most beautiful or magic place you visited this year?

Best (and only) trip this year must be the 75 kilometers of swimming and running between Sandhamn and Utö in the Stockholm archipelago that constitute the Ö till Ö race. Most magical place then must be the Utö finish line

What was your greatest disappointment of 2013?

Tragic death of a close relative.

Did you learn anyting particular this year?

Pain is temporary!

Plans, hopes, expectations for 2014?

Hope to be able to play the new material live and, if possible, get the show abroad at some point. Also, if we can surpass our day to day business it would be great to finally start writing the BSE book to explain it all.
