ENG: Within next few weeks we’d like to present you series of articles where some of our favourite artists will share with us thoughts on their musical highlights of 2011. The first one goes Ketil Søraker, former member of Northaunt and today the man responsible for Taphephobia and Mulm (which album will be released soon by Cyclic Law). 1) Bohren & der Club of Gore – “Beileid” (EP)
Kolejny wspaniały album mistrzów “twinpeaksowego” jazz/ambientu. Cóż więcej mogę dodać?? Zauważyłem, że dla wielu hardcore’owych fanów wprowadzenie wokali jest ciężkie do przełknięcia. Szczęśliwie ja za takiego się nie uważam, myślę, że wokal wzbogaca tylko atmosferę. Dzięki Patton!
2) Hammock – “Asleep in the Downlights” (EP)
Jeśliby porównać z poprzednimi, ten album Hammock jest nieco inny. To nie jest czysty ambient jak przykładowo na “Maybe They Will Sing for Us Tomorrow”, to bardziej brzmi jak pop/ambient. W każdym razie to naprawdę dobre wydawnictwo, jak zwykle wypełnione oniryczną atmosferą. Dobrze się sprawdza z butelka wina. Otwórzcie umysły.
3) Shining – “Född förlorare”
Najlepsza metalowa płyta roku. Niektórzy popadają w depresję obcując z tą samobójczą muzyką – u mnie wywołuje ona uśmiech na twarzy. Niektórzy nazywają ja black metalem, ja preferuję określenie jej po prostu metalem.
4) Ulver – “Wars of the Roses”
Poprzednia płyta, “Shadows of the Sun” była odrobinę lepsza, ale wciąż nie ma siły, żebym nie umieścił Ulvera w mojej top 5. To dobry album, dokładnie trafiający w moje gusta. Ulver zawsze będzie jednym z moich faworytów na poletku muzyki elektronicznej.
5) Rasalhague – “Rage Inside the Window”
Słyszałem ostatnio trochę naprawdę imponujących albumów dark ambientowych, jak przykładowo Psychomanteum czy Triangular Acension, żeby wymienić tylko paru. Ale najwięcej czasu spędziłem słuchając Rasalhague, “Rage Inside the Window”. Niesamowite wydawnictwo dark ambientowe z jedną z najfajniejszych opraw graficznych, jakie widziałem od dłuższego czasu.

1) Bohren & der Club of Gore – “Beileid” (EP)
Another great album of the masters of Twin peaks jazz/ambient. What else can I say ?? I see that for some of the hardcore fans that vocals in Bohren is a bit hard to swallow . Luckily I`m not one of the mentioned HC fans, I actually think it adds even more to the atmosphere. Thank you Patton.
2) Hammock – “Asleep in the Downlights” (EP)
Compared with their earlier works, this album is a bit different . It is not pure ambient like for example on “Maybe They Will Sing for Us Tomorrow”, it is more like pop/ambient . Anyway a really good release, and the dreamy feeling is present – as always. Goes fine with a bottle of wine. Open your mind.
3) Shining – “Född förlorare”
The best metal release of this year. Some people get depressed by suicidal music, while it makes me smile. Some people would call this black metal, I prefer to say just metal.
4) Ulver – “Wars of the Roses”
The previous album “Shadows of the Sun’ was a bit better, but I still have to pick Ulver for my top 5. Because this is a good release, and is right up my alley. Ulver will always be one of my favorites when it comes to electronical music.
5) Rasalhague – “Rage Inside the Window”
Lately I`ve heard really impressive dark ambient artists, for example Psychomanteum and Triangular Ascension – to mention just a few. The artist I spend most time listening to is Rasalhaugue – “Rage Inside the Window”. An amazing dark ambient release with the coolest artwork I`ve seen in a long, long time.
